Acupuncture is a treatment method associated with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM is one of the oldest continually practised healthcare systems in the world. Acupuncture can decrease pain, relax muscles, improve joint flexibility and circulation, strengthen the immune system, and regulate the nervous system. In traditional acupuncture, needles are inserted in the body on specific points located along a network of channels, or meridians. The goal is to balance the flow of vital energy — or Qi (pronounced “chee”) — throughout the body.

Chiropractic is a drug-free, non-invasive method of pain relief and general whole-body wellness. The most common form of treatment is manual manipulation of the joints of the body — specifically, those of the spinal column. This “chiropractic adjustment” is a precisely performed procedure where the doctor exerts a gentle force, usually by hand, on a specific joint. The adjustment restores joint flexibility, optimizes function, and decreases pain.
Chiropractors may also use soft tissue techniques such as Active Release Techniques®, Graston Techniques®, and shockwave therapy to address the muscles, nerves, tendons, and ligaments of the body. They might also use other treatments such as acupuncture, intramuscular stimulation (IMS), and low level laser therapy to decrease pain and improve the body’s own ability to heal. The treatment you receive depends on your condition and overall medical history. After assessing your symptoms, your chiropractor will tell you what — if any — form of chiropractic care is right for you.

Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of the soft tissues of the body (muscles, ligaments, and tendons). Therapeutic massage helps decrease pain by improving muscle and joint function. (she/her) Chelsea received her DOMP from the National Academy of Osteopathy in Toronto with high academic standing. She believes that the largest hurdle to a successful treatment is a connection with the patient, which is what she strives to build from the second you meet her. She believes “education is the lightest thing you will ever carry”, and she practices what she preaches. When she isn’t working, you will find her outside or in the gym. She loves sports, her dog, and good food. She is also a self-proclaimed bookworm, having never met a book she didn’t like.
